Win them to Christ, Disciple them into the Church
They Just Need Jesus
A little while back we met some friends in a local mall as we were shopping for some clothes for my pregnant wife. As we were visiting with them many people were passing by. It just so happened that as we were standing there two teenage girls walked by holding hands. It seemed very apparent that these two young girls were more than "friends". The oldest daughter of our friends said to me after they had passed, "Nasty." I explained to her that these young girls simply needed Jesus. That just as a murderer, liar, thief, etc., need Jesus, these girls did.
Since that time, it seems that whenever I hear or encounter some tragic event where sin has a hold on people and it is destroying lives, I am simply reminded that they just need Jesus. Whatever problem they face, whatever situation sin has gotten them into, if they would turn their lives over to Jesus, they would not go any deeper and be on the track to getting out. Sometimes they would still have to deal with the consequences of their sin, but He(Jesus) would be there to go through it with them.
So let us remember, when our reaction is to recoil with fear at the murder, disgust and anger at the rapist or molester, or judgement at any type of sin. They just need Jesus, the same way that you and I did before we came to Him.
